Data Entry

One of the most important but laborious tasks in research is data entry and its verification.  With some foresight, however, data entry can be more effecient using scanning technology or direct entry by the respondent as they complete the survey.  I design surveys for online data collection or format precoded forms.  Both require formatting at the the front end of the process but can save considerable time and cost in data entry as well as improve the quality of the data.  Data dictionaries and code books should be developed as part of the process of preparing data for analysis.
